mackallfrankA benefit fund has been established to help cover expenses as a Savage Police officer recovers from injuries sustained in a Jan. 2 motor vehicle accident. Savage Police Officer Frank Mackall, 39, remains in critical condition at North Memorial Medical Center. Officer Mackall was on duty and sustained injuries when his vehicle left the roadway at approximately 1 a.m., striking a tree.

The Savage Police Department and South Metro Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 14, of which Officer Mackall is an active member, have set up a fund at Klein Bank for donations. Contributions may be made in care of the Frank Mackall Benefit Fund at any Klein Bank location. Donations also are being accepted by mail at the following address:
