Predatory offender residing on Yosemite Ave. S. |

The Savage Police Department has received notice that a Level 3 Predatory Offender is moving into the 13700 block of Yosemite Avenue South today, Nov. 1.
As required by state law, George Robert Van Fossen, 55, contacted the Savage Police Department yesterday afternoon to notify officers of his anticipated residence in the community. Van Fossen has been convicted of having sexual contact with an 8-year-old female who was known to him. The offense included fondling and penetration. He has completed his prison sentence and is no longer under any formal supervision. He is not wanted by law enforcement.
The Savage Police Department is planning to hold a community notification meeting next week to provide additional details and answer residents’ questions. Details about the meeting time, date and location will be released as soon as they are finalized. A representative from the Minnesota Department of Corrections will be at the meeting as well.
