Volunteers needed to help ensure an accurate census on April 1, 2010. Work is now occurring towards this goal. Volunteers are needed for Complete Count Committees, which will participate in parades and festivals, answer questions, provide translations, and assist with the questionnaire. BIG BROTHER BIG SISTERS OF THE GREATER TWIN CITIES

Volunteer Position Title: Big Brother or Big Sister (mentor to a young person)
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities (BBBS) needs adult volunteers. BBBS matches young people ages 7-13 with caring, adult mentors. Big Brothers and Big Sisters provide friendship, emotional support and hope to young people. Community-based mentors meet with their Little Brother or Sister two to four times per month at the locations of their choice. In this program, volunteers may choose the traditional one-to-one mentoring relationship, or they may sign up for the Big Couples/Colleagues or Big Families programs to engage their partner/spouse/co-worker and/or children in the experience. School-based mentors meet young people in their school for an hour once a week for focused activities, including reading, creating crafts, playing in the gym or simply talking.
