Those interested in volunteering for the following community service opportunities are asked to please complete a Community Service Project Application.
PARKS AND NATURAL RESOURCES
Many opportunities relating to the City's parks and natural resources:
- Neighborhood tree planting – Help bring trees back where streets and utilities were reconstructed. This project will help beautify neighborhoods and restore greenery. Make-over to take place May through June.
- Adopt-A-Park – Protect and enhance Savage's parks, trails and open spaces by providing general care and maintenance.
- Spring and fall park cleanup – Assist with the freshening up of City parks by providing general care, painting, playground improvements, and tree/shrub trimming.
- Adopt-A-Garden – Prepare, plant, weed and water one of the many community flower beds at city parks and public buildings.

MCCOLL POND ENVIRONMENTAL LEARNING CENTER
There are a many volunteer opportunities available at the McColl Pond Environmental Learning Center.

SAVAGE CABLE TELEVISION
Assistance is sought with the television production of various community events in Savage such as Dan Patch Days, WinterFest and Arbor Day.

VOLUNTEERS IN POLICING SERVICES
Savage residents who wish to serve their communities and experience the inner workings of a police department can join the Savage Volunteers in Policing Services (VIPS) program. Qualified volunteers will be assigned specific tasks and duties that can create efficiencies for the Savage Police Department which will help improve services to the community. The VIPS program has been designed to be a fun learning experience for both volunteers and staff.
Please note, the Community Service Application is not required for this volunteer opportunity as the Police Department has a different form for volunteers to complete.
