Quality of Life Rating

2010 Survey Results: High Ratings for Services

Residents have given high ratings to city services in Savage, based on results of a telephone survey conducted in May.

Earlier this year, the Savage City Council directed staff to hire Minneapolis-based Decision Resources to randomly contact 400 residents and ask their opinions on services provided by the City of Savage. The 130-question survey took approximately 24 minutes to complete, although 5 percent of responders stayed on the phone for over two hours. This was a record for Decision Resources, according to company representative Bill Morris.

Overall, the results of the survey were extremely positive regarding the quality and value of city services, how informed residents feel they are about City services and projects, and the quality of life in the community. Specifically, an average of 86 percent of those asked rated city services as being good or excellent, putting Savage as "one of the strongest rated cities in provision of services in the Metro Area," Morris said. Services rated included police and fire, utilities, snow and ice control, park maintenance, recreational offerings, and building inspections.

Other key findings of the survey:
